Encouraging and Supporting Excellence
Times have changed since most of us were in school and that is due in part to the innovation of teachers.
The purpose of the Innovative Teacher Grant is to encourage and support excellence in teaching by awarding grants to SISD teachers for special and innovative projects that otherwise would not be provided for in school budgets.
Innovative Teaching Grants are designed to encourage, facilitate, recognize and reward innovative and creative instructional approaches to accomplish program objectives. The Shallowater Education Foundation offers teachers and administrators the opportunity to apply for grants to support innovative programs or projects that encourage higher levels of student learning. The grants must enhance student academic performance, support the mission, goals, and initiative of the school district; and support the Campus Improvement Plan.
Eligibility to Apply for Grants
Individuals or teams of individuals employed by the Shallowater Independent School District are eligible to apply for grants, as long as district impact on students can be demonstrated. Previous SEF grant recipients must have submitted a Grant Evaluation Form in order to be considered for future grants.
Forms and Information
Grant Workshops will be hosted at least once a year to update and inform those eligible to apply for grants about the requirements, the process, and the best practices for applying for teacher mini-grants.
