Hi everyone! I am finishing up my sophomore year at Pepperdine University, pursuing a degree in Journalism and Advertising, and truly enjoying every second. In my time at Pepperdine, I have become involved in many different avenues on campus, including working as a staff writer for The Graphic, our student newspaper, volunteering through the Pepperdine Volunteer Center, winning back-to-back championships with my intramural basketball team, and serving as the communications chair for my sorority, Pi Beta Phi. Over the past two years, I have learned that there is nothing quite like being surrounded by selfless, inspirational, ambitious people with unbound potential. I have learned to cherish every cafeteria dinner with housemates, and every car ride sing along down Pacific Coast Highway. I have learned to wake up early just to catch the sunrise, and to always stop and smell the flowers. Most of all, however, I have learned how truly blessed and thankful I am for the town I was raised in. Shallowater High School and organizations like the Shallowater Education Foundation challenged me to chase my dreams, pursue my passions, and to never be afraid to make a difference, and that is something I will forever be grateful for. Thank you so much again for everything!
Warm Regards, Hannah Almsted
